PLANUS AND  PAVILION DOORS 
             
  Degree  in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnics, then in 1972 he opened his practice  mainly dealing with industrial design and co-operating with important Italian  and foreign companies. In 1981 he started his activity as interior designer. 
   
  Between  1987 and 1996, he joined Terry Dwan and together they designed a series of  building in Europe and Japan. 
   
  In  1999, he set up "Antonio Citterio and Partners", co-founded by  Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, a multi-disciplinary design, architecture  and graphic practice. Mainly active in the industrial product design sector,  public and private architecture, in planning working spaces for offices and  showrooms, in designing malls, in industrial communication through graphics and  impressive projects as well as in the interior and stand design. 
   
  At  present he is working at renewing and refurbishing of line 1 of the Milan  Underground for ATM, at the concept and design of the luxury hotel chain  "Bulgari Hotels and Resorts" with the first hotel to be built in  Milan and at the project for a new settlement "Technogym Village" in  Cesena. 
   
   From  1999 to 2002 Antonio Citterio taught at the Architecture Academy of the Italian  Switzerland University in Mendrisio. 
   He was  awarded as series of prizes such as The Gold Compass in 1987, 1995 and in 2002  he was awarded the "Hall of Fame" for his activity as interior  designer. 
  Some  of his masterpieces are exhibited in permanent collections at the MOMA in New  York, at Centre Pompidou and at the Architecture and Design Museum in Chicago.
